Art Advisory Services
Cornelia Svedman provides art advisory services for a select number of new and established collectors and corporations looking to build, curate or expand their art collections. Cornelia’s speciality is in developing sophisticated, beautiful and coherent collections of international bluechip art, which also stand as a unique and refined expression of the client’s personal aesthetic and taste.
Cornelia also provides her clients with unique insight and expertise in commercial negotiations and selling strategies.
In providing independent art advisory services to private, corporate and institutional clients, Cornelia draws on more than a decade of experience as an art specialist at Christie’s headquarters in London, where she was privileged to work with some of the finest art collections in the world.
Cornelia joined Christie’s in 2007, and was appointed a Specialist in the Impressionist and Modern Art department in 2008. There she was responsible for art expertise, sourcing and selling works of art for auctions and private sales across the globe. Cornelia was appointed a Director and Senior Specialist of Impressionist and Modern Art in 2015. After moving to Norway in 2017, in addition to providing independent art advisory services, Cornelia continued working on behalf of Christie’s to guide local buyers and sellers through the process of auction and private sales, and ran an exciting programme of art-related special events. In Norway, her team worked with SEB and Formuesforvaltning to bring private exhibitions of Watches, Jewellery and Hermes Handbags to Oslo, and organised exclusive art experiences for Norwegian collectors during Frieze, Art Basel and the Venice Biennale. In August 2018, Cornelia and the Christie’s team worked with the Kistefos Museum to realise the success of the “Twisted” charity auction, which raised a record $2,400,000 for the expansion of the museum.
Cornelia holds Masters degrees in History and History of Art from the University of St Andrews and the Courtauld Institute of Art in London, and is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at Norges Handelshøyskole. She is fluent in Norwegian, Swedish, English and German.
